Our Honeymoon - London (6th Dec 2010, Monday)

I just realised I have not blogging about our honeymoon. I'm going to continue, and target to finish blogging by end of March hols. Hehe...

We woke up early in the morning to this scenery outside the windows.

It was super frosty cold.

Sis drove us to the train station, and we took the National Rail out to Central London.

The different railway lines make Darling and me very very confused. And from one line to the other, we got to walk a long long way. That explains why usually our train journey is super short, coz most of the distance is covered on foot. Hahahaha... Changing from one line to the other often involves walking up and down stairs (super many stairs, and super narrow ones, with many people lugging their luggages. blocking the way coz the cab fare in UK is super ex.), up and down escalators and travelators.

Anyway, we arrived at Charing Cross. And I must say the city is surprisingly much colder than other areas in London. There's strong wind at every corner and every turn on the streets. I love the different opera house.

We walked to the Chinatown, wanted to grab our lunch at the restaurant recommended by Sis. But they only open at 12pm, and we arrived at 11am. =(

In the end, we got our lunch at Subway.

Another arty farty gallery. They have some floors opened for free. So we went in to hide ourselves from the cold awhile.

On our way walking to Trafalqar Square.

The very big space at Trafalqar Square. with busy roads all around it.

Next, took the Underground to Waterloo station.

And came to London Eye!

It's exactly the same as what we have for Singapore Flyer, except that the scenery up there is so so so much better than Singapore's. We had River Thames just under our feet and Big Ben just a distance away.

Can you spot Big Ben?

Next, we took the Thames Clipper for cruise around River Thames. And sotong us actually thought the ride should only be 20 minutes, ended up, it was more than 1 hour. And by then, it was close to peak hour, and we didn't want to meet the peak hour people at the train station.

London Bridge is falling down, falling down, falling down....

Luckily, we managed to make our way home with Bro-in-law coming to fetch us from the train station back home.

Alrighty, hopefully my blogging mood continues for the next few days. Hehe...
